With over two decades of training and experience in communications, marketing and event planning, Marie-Paule Berthiaume founded BPM COMMUNICATIONS in 2024. An award-winning journalist, she holds a screenwriting certificate, a bachelor's degree in communications (journalism) and is currently completing a certification in translation. At BPM, she collaborates with communications, graphic design and events professionals to offer a range of customized services.
In recent years, Marie-Paule has worked on a freelance basis for the following clients: West Kootenays Francophone Association, Nelson Museum Archives & Gallery, Nelson Kootenay Lake Tourism, Columbia Basin Trust, Kootenay Co-op Radio, ÉCONOMUSÉE® Network Society (international and British Columbia), Magnéto, Réseau.Presse, Francopresse, University of Alberta, Conseil scolaire francophone de la Colombie-Britannique, Nelson Waldorf School, Mères au front, For Our Kids, West Kootenay Climate Hub, Moms Against Racism, Icebreaker, hernest, VSSL, revelfest.dance and others.
The founder of BPM grew up in Tiohtià:ke/Montréal (QC) where the Kanien’kehá:ka Nation is recognized as the custodians of the lands and waters. She now resides on the traditional, ancestral and unceded təmxʷulaʔxʷ (traditional territory) of the Sinixt peoples in Nelson (BC). The Ktunaxa, Yaqan Nukij Lower Kootenay Band , the Syilx peoples and the Métis are also connected with this land where she is grateful to live.
